Cherokee號(hào)稱是目前最快的Web服務(wù)器軟件，在性能上，甚至比Nginx還略勝一籌。與Apache、Lighttpd、Nginx等其他同類軟件的對(duì)比，大家不妨看看這個(gè)測(cè)試頁(yè)面。其易用性做得也很不錯(cuò)。

Cherokee的功能包括支持FastCGI、SCGI、PHP、CGI、TLS及SSL加密連接，虛擬主機(jī)，授權(quán)認(rèn)證，實(shí)時(shí)編碼，載入均衡，與Apache兼容的log文件等等。

Cherokee內(nèi)含一個(gè)名為cherokee-admin的工具，執(zhí)行后，允許管理員直接通過瀏覽器進(jìn)入http://localhost:9090/對(duì)其進(jìn)行管理和配置。比如，開啟或關(guān)閉服務(wù)器，進(jìn)行一般選項(xiàng)的設(shè)定，配置虛擬服務(wù)器、信息源、圖標(biāo)、Mime類型等項(xiàng)目。

今天Cherokee發(fā)布了1.2.0版本，這是一個(gè)全新的版本號(hào)，之前是1.0.x。

與前一個(gè)版本相比較，該版本主要改進(jìn)包括如下方面：
