CentOS 6.0 正式發(fā)布（附下載地址）
在 RHEL 6.0 發(fā)布整整 8 個月之后，RedHat Linux 的社區(qū)免費版本 CentOS 6.0 終于正式發(fā)布。
CentOS 6.0 基于上游的 RHEL 6.0 制作，同時基本包含了所有的上游軟件包。CentOS 完全遵守上游供應(yīng)商的再發(fā)行政策，并且以百分之百的軟件兼容性為目標，但相對于 RHEL ，CentOS 最主要的改變是去除了上游供應(yīng)商的商標及美工圖。
CentOS 6.0 是用一個較新的建設(shè)系統(tǒng)所建造出來的，而函數(shù)庫亦被檢定可兼容上游的二元檔。我們已決定不依從 UOP 的安裝別名。系統(tǒng)管理員在安裝時可訪問所有的「頻道」。安裝程序須要至少 392MB 內(nèi)存才能運作。文字模式會自動被應(yīng)用于擁有少于 652MB 內(nèi)存的系統(tǒng)上。
相比起圖像安裝程序，文字安裝程的功能受到局限。尤其是它不支持設(shè)置分區(qū)的分布、存儲方式、或選擇組件。Insufficient memory to configure kdump! 這個消息在安裝時會出現(xiàn)。這個已知的上游錯誤出現(xiàn)在少于 4GB 內(nèi)存的系統(tǒng)上，而更新至 kexec-tools-2_0_0-153_el6 或更新的版本可把問題解決。
x86_64 的內(nèi)容被分為兩張DVD。第二張碟只包含來自上游 Optional 頻道的組件。不涉及 Optional 類組件的安裝應(yīng)該只需要 DVD#1。
i386 DVD 的尺寸剛好收錄于一張單面的 DVD+R 媒體內(nèi)。它可以順利地被燒錄到一張 DVD-R 上。
